- Lullin
Lullin is a small town in the French region ofHaute Savoie . There is apost office /bank run by the French national mail company,La Poste , a "Huit à Huit" convenience store, a largebricolage shop, two bars/restaurants/hotels - "The Union" and "The Post", a localsport s,skiing andsocial club ; abakery , villageprimary school and other facilities. It also has a church, which was reconstructed early in the twentieth century after being previously destroyed in a fire.More and more of the younger natives of Lullin are seeking lucrative
employment in the neighbouring Swiss canton ofGeneva or elsewhere in more built up areas of the region like the capital city of Haute Savoie,Annecy . Several dwellings in the village are owned bySwiss , Dutch and even British newcomers. But the village people and their near neighbours still continue their traditions. Skiing is a very popular winter pastime when the whole valley is covered in snow, and in summer,hill walking andcycling are popular pursuits. Lullin has its owntennis court s andfootball pitch that the local children use as well as a social club used by people of all ages.Lullin still remains a very traditional French town. Typical foods such as
Fondue ,Tartiflette andRaclette are eaten on a regular basis.
