* AFL Premiership Player (2008)Brad Sewell is an AFL football player who serves as a negating midfielder. He was selected with pick six in the rookie draft in 2003. He his junior football at the newlyn football club which is part of the Central highlands football league, he was , later he played at the U18 TAC football club in Ballarat known as the rebels.
2006 proved to be his breakout year, when he came a narrow third in the club's Best and Fairest, collecting 130 votes behind Sam Mitchell and
Luke Hodge . He played all 22 games for the season, and kicked his first and second goal in the last match of the year against theGeelong Cats .To date, Sewell has tagged the likes of
Travis Johnstone ,Chris Judd ,Ben Cousins ,Peter F. Bell ,Adam Goodes ,Brent Harvey ,Jason Akermanis ,Steven Baker andLenny Hayes , amongst others.Sewell is seen as one of the AFL's best taggers as he is able to gather the ball and still play his own game while limiting someone else's. A key player for Hawthorn in their look for a premiership over the next few years and is the 2007 Peter Crimmens Medalist by one point to Campbell Brown.
On Saturday, 27th of September 2008, Sewell became a Premiership player, after the Hawks beat the reigning premiers Geelong in the Grand Final
