Beyeda

Beyeda is one of the 105 woredas in the Amhara Region of Ethiopia. Part of the Semien Gondar Zone, Beyeda is bordered on the south by the Wag Hemra Zone, on the west by Jan Amora, on the north by Addi Arkay, and on the east by the Tekezé River which separates it from the Tigray Region. The major town in Beyeda is Dilyibza.

The highest peak in Beyeda is also the highest peak in Ethiopia: Mount Ras Dashan. It is a member of the Semien Mountains, which cover most of this woreda.

Based on figures published by the Central Statistical Agency in 2005, this woreda has an estimated total population of 103,624, of whom 52,481 were males and 51,143 were females; 1,704 or 1.64% of its population are urban dwellers, which is less than the Zone average of 14.1%. With an area of 1,150.16 square kilometers, Beyeda has an estimated population density of 90.1 people per square kilometer, which is greater than the Zone average of 60.23.
