The action takes place on the
French Riviera .Brash Freddy Benson (Marlon Brando) is an American Army enlisted man stationed in Germany who decides to become a gigolo in the South of France. There he meets dapper Lawrence Jameson (David Niven) who is already doing the same thing but who is much more experienced and smoother than he. The two
confidence trick sters work independently in their pursuit of wealthy women to fleece, but when they find themselves chasing the same prey, they reluctantly agree to pool their talents as a contest. Their target is soap heiress Janet Walker (Shirley Jones). Freddy poses as Lawrence's idiot brother Ruprecht to gain Janet's sympathy, but she turns out not to be such an easy mark.Production
