Romaniţa Iordache

Romaniţa Iordache is a Romanian human rights activist and the current president of ACCEPT, Romania's largest LGBT rights organisation. Between July 2003 and 2004, she was the vice president of the association.

Iordache studied law in Bucharest in the 1990s, graduating in 1998, and then undertook postgraduate studies at the Central European University in Budapest (Hungary) and at Columbia University in the United States. Before assuming her role as the president of ACCEPT, she worked at various human rights agencies, such as Human Rights Watch and the Romanian Helsinki Committee for Human Rights, and also played a role in drafting the country's Freedom of Information Act and in laws decentralising and demilitarising the police service.

Iordache is also an executive editor for the "Romanian Journal of Society and Politics".
