Jeff Lindsay is the pen name of American
playwright andcrime novelist Jeffry P. Freundlich (born July 14, 1952), who lives inCape Coral ,Florida with his wife, authorHilary Hemingway , daughter ofLeicester Hemingway ,Ernest Hemingway 's brother. Lindsay is best known for writing the "Dexter" series of novels. Many of his earlier published works include his wife as a co-author. "Time Blender" was written withMichael Dorn . He graduated fromMiddlebury College , Vermont, in 1975. Showtime in 2006, with the first season of 12 episodes being primarily based on the first novel of the series, "Darkly Dreaming Dexter". The second season aired the following year, but was an original storyline that did not follow the plot of the following books, although before it aired it was speculated that the second season would be based on "Dearly Devoted Dexter".
