- Hubertus Hoffmann
Hubertus Hoffmann (born 1955) is a German journalist, media manager and investor. Currently he is one of the founding partners of
General Capital Group , a German basedinvestment company.Hoffmann was born in
Göttingen . He served with theBundeswehr (and is a reserve officer), studied Law, History and Political Science at theUniversity of Bonn and is a lawyer with a PhD in Political Science.Working for the nightly news at
ZDF , Europe's largest television station from 1988 to 1990, he then became CEO of the radio business of the Georg von Holtzbrink publishing group, and later Managing Director for New Media in the Burda Publishing Group inMunich , building up 15 companies for new media in Europe from 1993 to 1995.His entrepreneurial track record includes New Media Digital GmbH (1996,)MBI/MBO, Loewe Opta GmbH (1996) and Internet Media House AG (1998-2001). In 2005 he founded
General Capital Group which has invested since 2005 inVolkswagen AG (4,90%),ThyssenKrupp AG (4,70%),Lanxess AG (4,30%), andBASF AG (2,10%).Hoffmann is founder and president of the New York-based
World Security Network Foundation and author of a book about his mentor Fritz Kraemer ("On Excellence. Missionary, Mentor and Pentagon Strategist", 2004) with contributions fromAlexander Haig ,Henry Kissinger andDonald Rumsfeld .External links
