updated =The 21st World Men's Handball Championship will take place from January 16 to February 1, 2009 in Croatia. Croatia was selected from a group of four potential hosts which included the Czech Republic, Greece and Romania.
Opening game and ceremony will be held in Split, and the final game in Zagreb.
Stadiums
Six Croatian cities have been selected as hosts for the 2009 Championship: Split, Zadar, Osijek, Varaždin, Poreč and Zagreb.
The sites will include the new Spaladium Arena in Split and Arena Zagreb, where the final will take place.
