Waldorf school inEliot, Maine . It was founded in 1999 by the Seacoast Waldorf Association, beginning with akindergarten and first grade. The school currently has five early childhood programs for children ages 18 months to 6 years and grades 1-6. Governance and faculty
Waldorf schools are not-for-profits, governed by a Board of Trustees who oversee the legal and financial business aspects and a faculty of Waldorf trained teachers and administrators who oversee the day-to-day operations and pedagogy. Currently Tidewater has ten class teachers and assistants, five specialty teachers (Spanish, German, Movement Education, Woodwork, Strings, Handwork) and an administrator.
Tidewater School offers tuition assistance to families based on financial need. The difference between tuition and cost is made up through fund-raising, volunteerism and scholarship donations.
