Bismacine

Bismacine, also known as Chromacine, [U.S. Food and Drug Administration. July 21, 2006 "FDA Warns Consumers and Health Care Providers Not to Use Bismacine, also known as Chromacine" http://www.fda.gov/bbs/topics/NEWS/2006/NEW01415.html] is a substance manufactured by American Biologics Corporation that is purported to treat Lyme disease. It is not a licensed pharmaceutical, but was granted a trademark by the US Patent and Trademark Office in January 2005. Bismacine contains high levels of bismuth, and two deaths are recorded in Kansas, USA, following the use of intravenous bismacine to treat Lyme disease.
