Spirit Week
T-NT Week is the rivalry week for NTHS, the event takes place in October for a full school week in celebration of a long lasting high school football rivalry game against Tonawanda High School. Each day of the week has a theme, such as school spirit day when students dress up in all red white and blue to show their support for the football team.
Earth Day
Earth Day has traditionally been held each year at N.T.H.S. thanks to B.C.F.S. (Building Character For Success), Outdoor Awareness and Telecommunications Club. Each year provides students with new opportunities to explore workshops set up by B.C.F.S. for one half of the day. The other half is dedicated to an assembly, sponsored by Outdoor Awareness which has, in the past, featured student bands, a teacher band, and generally a skit done by Animal Club or Student Council. N.T.H.S.'s very own "Stomp" band performs, led by Mr. Hiestand and featuring many of the school's talented drummers. An environmental spin is added onto the performance with the use of recycled objects as drums. Most of these objects are traditionally pulled out of Fisherman's Park during the Outdoor Awareness beach clean up in September.
In recent years, Earth Day has lost its grace at N.T.H.S.; many students decide to skip the day completely, increasing the probability of future Earth Days being canceled. On top of that are money issues, as it has become increasingly harder for clubs to earn enough money to pay for various costs associated with Earth Day's production. The Earth Day production was canceled during the 2008-2009 school year due to a lack of interest from the community as a whole.
