In 1983 Phyllis' home in Omdurman Street was due for demolition, and she hoped to move toCoronation Street and be with Chalkie & Craig, but after a win on the horses they went toAustralia . After they moved out, Phyllis switched her attentions to old soldierPercy Sugden who she hoped to snare as a husband. She pursued him for years, even playing him off against another suitor,Sam Tindall .
