He participated in an Italian alpine regiment between 1924 and 1926.
Back in Argentina, he became Minister of War, and vice-president during the military government of General Pedro P. Ramírez, who had withdrawn
Arturo Rawson from the presidency. Ramírez named Farrell president onFebruary 25 1944. On July 1945 Farrell announced presidential elections, in which military Juan Perón was elected.
