Artist Marc Quinn created a life-sized sculpture of Charms, which the The Guardian described as "virtually all bosom".[2]
Biography
Charms has appeared in adult magazines specializing in large breast models.
Chelsea was also the record holder for bust in 2000; Charms's large breasts are due to polypropylene string breast implants. The string implants irritate the breast pocket which, in turn, promotes the production of fluid. The fluid is absorbed by the implant, resulting in continuous, gradual growth of the breast.[3][4]
In an interview, Charms says that her bust size is 153XXX, and that her breasts each weigh 26 pounds (11.8 kg).[5]
Charms has had breast augmentation surgery three times. The first augmentation enlarged her to an DD cup, the second to an HH. Both were saline bags. The third surgery implanted the polypropylene string, better known as "silly string", which has been banned in the United States, but has been used in breast enhancement surgery procedures in Europe and South America. In some cases of breast augmentation via the polypropylene method, the breasts may grow at different paces and usually at sometimes dangerously accelerated rates. In her case, they have grown in unison, but their growth rate has steadily slowed over the years. The initial string content was equivalent to 2500cc. Her doctor estimates the growth has increased the size of each breast to over 7000cc.[1]
When asked if her bust size causes her back pain, she replied that it does not if she keeps up with exercise. Her favorite authors are listed as Ha Jin, Anne Rice and Charles Dickens.[1]
Chelsea was the subject for British artist Marc Quinn's body of work on people who manipulate their own bodies and override mother nature. The life size marble sculpture of Chelsea was part of Quinn's exhibition at the White Cube gallery in London, May 2010 called 'Allanah, Buck, Catman, Chelsea, Michael, Pamela and Thomas'.
