Local Government Boundary Commission for England

The Local Government Boundary Commission for England was established under the Local Government Act 1972 as a statutory body to review boundaries of local government areas, and their electoral arrangements.

Before 1 April 1974, the Commission made proposals on the boundaries and names of English districts, and also on which small urban districts and municipal boroughs should become successor parishes.

It was replaced in 1992 by the Local Government Commission for England
