New Hampshire . The mountain is named after Dr.Francis Boott (1792–1863), and is part of thePresidential Range of the White Mountains. Boott Spur stands on the shoulder of Mount Washington, above the south side of theheadwall ofTuckerman Ravine .Although well over 4,000 feet in height above sea level, the
Appalachian Mountain Club doesn't consider Boott Spur a "four-thousand footer" because it stands less than 200 feet above thecol on the ridge from Washington, making it a secondary summit of that peak.ee also
