Stonelaw High School is a non-denominational state high school located in Rutherglen, Scotland near the city of Glasgow. It was established in 1970. The current head teacher is Brian D. Cooklin.

History

Stonelaw High School was formed in 1970 from the merging of Rutherglen Academy and Gallowflat Secondary School.

House System

The school operates a house system. The four houses Dryburgh, Jedburgh, Kelso, Melrose, named after local avenues which are in turn the names of abbeys in the Borders.

Staff

There are over 90 teachers employed at Stonelaw High. There are 20 departments, each with its own heads.

Extracurricular activities

The school has many extra curricular activities and clubs including football, volleyball and a soul band.
