Kate Ross

Kate Ross (1956 - March 12, 1998), born Katherine Ross, was an American mystery author who wrote four books set in Regency-era England about dandy Julian Kestrel. The novels in the series are "Cut to the Quick" (1994), "A Broken Vessel" (1995), "Whom the Gods Love" (1996), and "The Devil in Music" (1998), which received an Agatha Award. "The Lullaby Thief" (1997), a short story featuring Kestrel, is included in the mystery anthology "Crime Through Time," edited by Miriam Grace Monfredo and Sharan Newman. Ross was also a trial lawyer for the Boston law firm of Sullivan & Wooster and a graduate of Wellesley College and the Yale Law School. She died of cancer in 1998.
