"Tylopilus" is a small genus of mycorrhizal bolete fungi separated from "Boletus". Its most well-known member is the Bitter bolete ("Tylopilus felleus"), the only species found in Europe. More species are found in North America, such as the edible "Tylopilus chromapes".
