January 28 ,1870 – 1916) was an English footballer. He started playing in his home town with Notts Olympic and then he played with Saint Andrews, before moving toItaly in 1891 where he became one of the charter members and a player of Internazionale Torino. In 1898 he moved toMilan where, the following year, foundedA.C. Milan with Alfred Edwards. Kilpin became the first captain of the "Rossoneri", as well as the first coach. He played eight seasons with the team and won three national titles (1901, 1906 and 1907). He ended his career with Milan when non-Italian players were banned from the league. WhenWorld War I broke out, he remained in Italy, where he died in 1916. He was buried in the Milan Municipal Cemetery. In the 1990s he was re-buried in the Monumental Graveyard and AC Milan paid for a proper tombstone.External links
