Lingshu Jing

Lingshu Jing

"Lingshu Jing" (zh-stp|s=灵枢经|t=靈樞經|p=língshūjīng), also known as "Divine Pivot", is an ancient Chinese medical text. It is one of the remaining pieces of a greater medical work known as the "Huangdi Neijing" (Inner Canon of Huangdi or Yellow Emperor's Inner Canon). The other remaining piece, more commonly used in Traditional Chinese Medicine, is known as the "Suwen" 素問 ("Basic Questions").

Originally entitled "Zhenjing" 針經 ("Classic of Acupuncture"), this whole section of the Neijing was renamed "Lingshu" at some point in history. It is the belief of most scholars that this renaming occurred due to the complex esoteric nature of the writings; it has been suggested that only someone of sufficient spiritual advancement (i.e. 'Ling') can understand its true messages.
