Burning on Fort Itaipu Sentinels

The Burning on Forte Itaipu Sentinels UFO Incident took place on November 4, 1957, on the Itaipu Fort, in the city of Praia Grande, São Paulo, Brazil.

The story

At 2:00am, two sentinels of the fort noticed an intense brightness in the sky, and they realized it was actually an object that was descending at high speed directly towards the fort. At 1000 feet above the fort, it stopped.

At this moment, the sentinels could see that the UFO was circular and about 100 feet diameter. Each of them was armed with a sub machine gun, but they didn't shoot the UFO, nor raised the alarm.

Suddenly, the UFO started to emit a strong humming, and a strong heat wave hit the sentinels, even thought there wasn't any visible flame or light.

The sentinels' clothes burned in flames, and one of them fainted. The other one took cover under a cannon. Their screams alerted the troops that were around there, but the lights went out before they could do anything.

A minute later, the lights came back right after the heat wave stopped. Some soldiers could see the UFO going up towards the sky.

The burned sentinels were taken inside the fort and received medical attention. The fort's commander sent a message to the head quarters of the Brazilian Army.

As the United States had more knowledge about UFOs, Brazilian authorities asked the American embassy for help on the investigations. As soon as possible, Brazilian Army and United States Air Force personnel flew to the fort, along with investigators of the Brazilian Air Force.

After listening the sentinels' descriptions of the UFO and of the situation, the investigators discussed why the sentinels were attacked.

To date, the Fort Itaipu incident still remains without any official explanation.
