Echo Hollow is an American Christian metal band founded by Tourniquet ex-members Guy Ritter and Gary Lenaire in 1996. Echo Hollow has released two studio albums, "Diet of Worms" in 1998 and "Superficial Intelligence" in 2004.

Background

The band made the cover of "HM Magazine" in 1999 for their first release.cite journal |month=January/February |title=Echo Hollow |journal=HM Magazine |id=ISSN|1066-6923 |issue=75 |pages= |url=http://web.archive.org/web/20010713014221/www.hmmagazine.com/issue75/echohollow.htm |accessdate=2007-04-30 ] The album's tilte, "Diet of Worms", celebrates the actual Diet of Worms, where Martin Luther was excommunicated from the Roman Catholic Church for his work translating the Bible into common German.cite book |last=Powell |first=Mark Allan |title=Encyclopedia of Contemporary Christian Music |year=2002 |publisher=Hendrickson Publishers |location=Peabody, Massachusetts |isbn=1-56563-679-1 |edition=First printing |chapter=Echo Hollow |pages=290] Another theme was the 1998 shooting at Thurston High School in Springfield, Oregon, from which both Ritter and Lenaire had graduated. Musically, the album was similar to Tourniquet, but less heavy and aggressive.cite web |url=http://www.tollbooth.org/review99/ehollow.html |title="Diet of Worms" |last=Spencer |first=Josh |date=1999-02-10 |publisher="The Phantom Tollbooth"]
