He competed for Great Britain in the

John Disley was an Athlete of great repute; he is responsible for setting five British records in the steeplechase and four at two miles. He also set Welsh records at six different distances.
A Founder of the London Marathon & UK Orienteering Pioneer
He was the leading pioneer of
Orienteering in the UK and was one of the founders of theLondon Marathon . Disley became vice-chairman of theUK Sports Council in 1974, a post he held until 1982.He is a member of the
