The Cavapoo (also called a Cavoodle), is a type of dog that is a cross between a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and Poodle, most often a Miniature Poodle. Similarly to other poodle hybrids, the interest in this type of dog stems from the desire to create a non-shedding dog (with a poodle-type coat) that makes a great all-round family pet. Cavapoos have become very popular over recent years, particularly in the US and Australia. Temperament

The Cavapoo is a friendly, affectionate tail-wagger. The are clever little dogs, who are eager to please. They are usually easy to train, and often do well in competitive obedience and other dog activities. They thrive on human companionship, and are happy to be with both children and adults. They are quite energetic dogs, but also enjoy a quiet cuddle. They generally get along well with other dogs and pets.

Appearance

Cavapoos have dark round expressive eyes, usually large but not prominent. Colors include the full range of the CKCS, including black, blenheim (red and white), blue, silver, gray, cream, apricot, red, white, brown, tricolor, black and tan, ruby (rich mahogany red), and cafe-au-lait. Cavapoos are known for their soft, flowing hair, and regular brushing and grooming is recommended. Like other long, soft-eared breeds, they can be prone to ear infections, so it's important to keep their ears clean and dry.
