ProQuake is a modified
Quake engine , developed byJ. P. Grossman from the originalid Software GPL-licensedQuake code. ProQuake was created to further competitive play, including features such as more granular aim and cheat-free mode. Its stated goals are to provide improvements and fixes without changing the nature of competitive game play. ProQuake is fully backwards-compatible to originalQuake (NetQuake , notQuakeWorld ). The last version released by J.P. Grossman is 3.50, and it was released on September 21, 2002.In early 2008, a new project emerged under the name "Proquake 4" to continue development.
