music atSan Francisco State College and performed in the city's Purple Onion club in the early 1950s. Later she would joinCab Calloway 's orchestra on aEurope an tour. After a brief stint in anoff-Broadway production entitled "Cabin in the Sky", she was signed toEra Records which released "Love Letters". Thesong would become a big seller in both the United Kingdom and the United States, and reach Number #2 on theBillboard R&B chart.Also in 1962, Lester would collaborate with American R&B singer
Betty Everett , and the duo released thealbum , "Betty Everett & Ketty Lester".Lester would later establish herself as a television actress in the 1970s and 1980s. She played the roles of 'Helen Grant' in the
soap opera , "Days of Our Lives " from 1975 to 1977, and 'Hester-Sue Terhune' on theNBC television series "Little House on the Prairie" from 1978 to 1983. In 1994, Lester played the role of Aunt Lucy in thefilm , "House Party 3 ".References
