Prof. Anurag Kumar is currently Professor and Chairman at [http://ece.iisc.ernet.in Department of Electrical Communication] at
Indian Institute of Science atBangalore , India. He is a PhD fromCornell University . He worked atBell Labs in the US before joining as Indian Institute of Science faculty. He co-ordinated the project [http://ernet.in/index.htm ERNET] for networking the major education and research institutions in India; from 1989 to 2001. This project was instrumental in bringing network connectivity to Indian students and researchers in late 80's and early 90's.His main research area used to be
