Atomic Mouse is a funny animal superhero created in 1953 by Al Fago for Charlton Comics,cite web|url=http://www.toonopedia.com/atomic_m.htm|title=Toonpedia: Atomic Mouse|author=Donald D. Markstein|accessdate=2007-02-14] depicted as an ordinary mouse who is shrunk by an evil magician and given U-235 pills that grant him super powers. [cite web|url=http://www.wisconsinhistory.org/museum/atomic/hope.asp|title=Living Under a Mushroom Cloud: Fear and Hope in the Atomic Age|author=Wisconsin Historical Museum|accessdate=2007-02-14] The strip bearing his name ran to 54 issues over eleven years, and many of his stories were reprinted during the mid-1980s by the American Comics Group. In 2001, he was licensed by the furry comic company Shanda Fantasy Arts.cite web|url=http://www.chs.org/comics/charlton.htm|title=Charlton Comics: a brief history|author=Connecticut Historical Society|accessdate=2007-02-14] He will be returning in January 2009 in ATOMIC MOUSE VS POWER JACK AND THE POWER FORCE from Shanda Fantasy Arts.

Fago imitated his own character by creating Atomic Rabbit (a.k.a. Atomic Bunny) and Atom the Cat, both of whom had costumes and powers similar to those of Atomic Mouse.
