steel roller coaster atDorney Park & Wildwater Kingdom inSouth Whitehall Township, Pennsylvania , in theUnited States .Laser is a portable coaster, and was formerly known as Colossus (erected at
Playcenter São Paulo ) before moving to Dorney Park. The coaster is portable in that it is not attached to the ground, but is anchored by pools of water. The trains on the Laser use a single lap bar and seat belts to secure riders. This design works because the forces from both loops and helices press riders in their seats, a common feature with Schwarzkopf looping coasters. Riders are also known to experience "
blackouts " for a number of seconds, as a result of the intense forces of the double loops.Unlike the other major roller coasters in the park, there is no bag storage on the ride platform, so guests must take everything with them. Also, during normal operations, riders cannot choose seats on the train.
The ride will be closed at the end of the 2008 season, and sold to somewhere in Germany.
