Steven Lloyd

Steven Lloyd (born 27 February 1971 in Birmingham, UK) is an orchestra conductor. Lloyd studied at Birmingham Conservatoire with Andrew Mogrelia, and privately with Christopher Adey and Frank Shipway.

From 2001 until 2003, he was resident conductor with the Royal Oman Symphony Orchestra in Oman. Beginning in 2005, Lloyd was principal conductor at the Cairo Symphony Orchestra in Egypt until 2007. Amal Choucri Catta, in her review of the 2005 New Year's Eve Concert for Al Ahram newsaper, hailed Steven Lloyd as the "best principal conductor of the orchestra to date" - she also noted that he was the youngest conductor in history to occupy the position.

Steven Lloyd has also been a member of staff at Ampleforth College, North Yorkshire, since 2005.

Trivia

Lloyd is the conductor on several soundtracks, including the X box 360 game, Xenosaga performed by the London Philharmonic Orchestra and composed by Yasunori Mitsuda and Sega's Headhunter, composed by Richard Jacques. Also two films, Vipere Au Poix and Avant L'oubli.
