- Kefalari, Kifissia
Kefalari (Greek, Modern: Κεφαλάρι, Ancient/Katharevousa: -on), older forms: Kefalario and Kefalarion is an area just north of
Kifissia ,Greece , housing a multitude of shops, restaurants and cafe-bars. It is a thriving centre of activity for people of all ages, and the Kefalari Park (behind the church) has been a popular hangout-spot for teenagers and students for decades.During the 1980s the park population was primarily made up of Greek public school students, and up until the 1990s it was restricted to mostly Greek teenagers, with a few foreign students. However, in the mid- to late-90's there was an overwhelming majority of foreign high school students making up the 'regulars' in the Park, mainly from the private British and American schools such as
Campion , ISA (formerlyTASIS Hellenic ), St. Catherine's and ACS. As of 2004 the presence of these schools has faded and Kefalari has become a meeting place for groups of more often greek teenagers.
