Orchard Lake, Michigan ) was the Assistant General Manager of theCarolina Hurricanes of the NHL. He is the youngest of Hurricanes ownerPeter Karmanos Jr. 's three sons. He has since resigned.Management career
The team cited personal reasons for the Karmanos' resignation. He had served served as assistant GM since April 1998. In that position, he was responsible for day-to-day operations of the Hurricanes and assisted GM Jim Rutherford in duties such as player evaluation and contract negotiation.
Named as Assistant General Manager of the Hurricanes in April 1998, Karmanos assisted
General Manager Jim Rutherford in player evaluations, contract negotiations and player movements. His other responsibilities included overseeing the day-to-day operations of the hockey club, the marketing/creative services department and CanesVision. Karmanos served as Alternate Governor for the Club, attending regular meetings of theNational Hockey League Board of Governors .He won the
Stanley Cup championship in 2006 with Carolina.Karmanos announced his resignation from the Carolina Hurricanes management team on
