Eadwulf Cudel of Bernicia
- Eadwulf Cudel of Bernicia
Eadwulf Cudel succeeded his brother Uhtred the Bold, Earl of Northumbria following his murder in 1016. However, Eadwulf only succeeded as Earl of the northern part of Northumbria, Bernicia,
In 1018, Eadwulf suffered a major defeat against King Malcolm II of Scotland in the Battle of Carham, and as a result Lothian was lost to Bernicia.
Eadwulf died in the early 1020s, and was succeeded by Uhtred's son, Ealdred.
