Alleged (1974-2000) was a champion American-bred Thoroughbred racehorse best remembered as winning back-to-back Prix de l'Arc de Triomphes in 1977 and 1978. Trained by Vincent O'Brien in Ireland and ridden by Lester Piggott, this front-running horse was undefeated in all but one of his appearances, that being second to Dunfermline in the 1977 St. Leger Stakes. His Timeform rating of 138 marks him out as one of the great thoroughbreds in racing history.

Retired after the 1978 racing season, he stood at stud at Walmac International near Lexington, Kentucky and sired four champions. Among them was Miss Alleged who won several graded stakes races in France and the United States including the 1991 Breeders' Cup Turf and the Hollywood Turf Cup Stakes. She was voted the 1991 Eclipse Award for Outstanding Female Turf Horse. Alleged is the grandsire of 2005 Grand National winner, Hedgehunter.

Alleged died in 2000 from the infirmities of old age and is buried at Walmac International.
