In 2006 they won the Northern Championship and thus were promoted to the Women's Premiership, where they play in the 2006-07 season. Blackburn Rovers LFC reached the semi-final of the Women's FA Cup, where they lost 0-1 to Charlton Athletic. Katie Anderton and Kaye Hawke were selected for the England squad at the end of the 2006/7 season. Katie Anderton will spend the summer playing in the USA, for FC Indiana. Kay Hawke signed a contract with Lincoln City LFC in August 07 and Rovers recruited several new players. Natalie Preston was signed from Leeds United Ladies and captained the side in pre-season. Katie Anderton was not included in the England squad for China 07, despite scoring 34 goals during 2006/7 season.
