Dr. Sandra Stotsky, Ed.D. is a noted advocate of strong academic standards for
K-12 as well as for prospectiveteacher s. While serving in theMassachusetts Department of Education from 1999 to 2003, she developed K-12 standards for every major school subject that are considered among the best in the country by independent academic experts.In 2005, Massachusetts students had the highest state averages on the NAEP tests for
mathematics andreading , in both grade 4 and grade 8.In 2006, She was appointed by
