Gey-Gel State Reserve

Gey-Gel State Reserve or Goy-Gol State Reserve ( _az. Göygöl Dövlət Qoruğu) of Azerbaijan is a State Reserve of Azerbaijan that was established in 1925. The reserve is intended to protect the natural ecosystem of the sub-Alpine zones of the northern slopes of the Minor Caucasus. Forests dominate the territory of the reserve which covers the total area of 67.39 km². Its fauna is rich with different species of animals, including brown bears, Caucasian red deer, roe deer, lynx, and birds such as the lammergeyer, raven, and mountain partridge. The waters are well stocked with trout.

The reserve also contains over 420 plant species, including 20 which are endemic to the Caucasus region. [http://www.ecotourism.aznet.org/naturalobjects/geygel.html]
