In 1980, Gusoff graduated from
George W. Hewlett High School . In 1984, Gusoff graduated fromCornell University with a bachelor's degree in English and Government. Gusoff also attended theColumbia University Graduate School of Journalism , where she got her master's degree in Journalism.Gusoff started her career in
Fort Myers, Florida in 1985, where she worked atWNFM-TV and WLEQ-FM. Gusoff left Florida in 1987. In the late 1980s, Gusoff began working atNews 12 Long Island . In August 1993, Gusoff joinedWNBC , the NBC affiliate inNew York City . Gusoff started there as a Long Island Correspondent. During her time on NBC 4, Gusoff has covered the crash ofTWA Flight 800 , the crash ofAmerican Airlines Flight 587 and theBlizzard of 1996 . Today, Gusoff anchors "Today in New York" on Saturday and Sunday mornings on WNBC.Awards
In addition to her 2004 Emmy for On-Camera Performance/General Assignment Reporting, Gusoff has been awarded six New York Emmy nominations for coverage including her reporting of the
American Airlines Flight 587 crash and theBelmont Stakes .
