Roger Dowson

Roger Dowson

Roger Dowson was born in Chippenham, Wiltshire, England in 1964 and is a military and social history researcher and author. He has written "Manchester Scottish 1914–1918" and has been the co-author with Neil Drum on "God's Own 1st Salford Pals" and "Hell Let Loose - 1/7th Battalion Lancashire Fusiliers 1914–1915 including the Gallipoli campaign".

He is also a registered fieldworker with the Imperial War Museum, London and is an active campaigner for conservation and promotion of local heritage, oral history and war memorials. He currently works for museums and archives in Yorkshire. His projects have included a joint participation with the Green Howards Regimental Museum, Richmond on "Remembrance the Yorkshire Regiment 1914–1918", a website.
