Sir James Reginald Alfred Bottomley, KCMG (Born 12 January 1920) was a British diplomat.
He was educated at King's College School and Trinity College, Cambridge, and served as British Ambassador to South Africa from 1973-1976.
He was made CMG in 1965, and KCMG in 1973.
He was the son of Cecil Bottomley and Alice Bottomley, daughter of Richard Robinson. He Married Barbara Vardon, and they had 3 sons and 2 daughters, one of whom is the MP Peter Bottomley.
