Grant Rowe (born 1969) is a
Sydney (Australian ) based artist who specializes in semi-realistic/impressionistic portraits. He also suffers from the little talked about schizo-affective mental illness. A cross betweenschizophrenia and mood bipolar illness. He also is an amateur short movie maker, a budding electronic music maker and poet. He won second prize two years in a row at the first two "Schizophrenia Fellowship (NSW)" art exhibitions.He performed slam poetry at the event "Hip Hopera" in Sydney 1995, run by def-defying theatre.
In September 2006 to October 2006 he was a participant in an exhibition entitled "'FOR MATHEW & OTHERS: "a journey into schizophrenia" held at Campbelltown Art Gallery and the Joan Sutherland Performing Art Centre, Penrith. Along with many of his portraits, his video work (short slapstick to intense psychological dramas) were also shown at this exhibition.Grant has pursuits in music too! Being a Top 8 recording artist in techno music under the pseudonym 'eraser' and a top 6 rap artist under the name 'Jack Verbals' at mp3.com.au.
In October 2007, Grant held a one man performance day at Hazlehurst Gallery Gymea, Sydney... where he performed spoken word, showed numerous self made short movies, and played a slide-show of his latest paintings. He also played a recording of an experimental radio play entitled 'eccentric care'.
