Jim Winkler

James (Jim) Winkler is the General Secretary (a top executive) of the United Methodist General Board of Church and Society. As General Secretary, he works with staff, board members, church leaders and local church members to seek the implementation of the denomination's Social Principles through education and advocacy.

He actively pursues issues of justice (like opposition to the war in Iraq) through public dialogue, legislative action and personal public witness. Jim offers weekly commentary on social issues through the board's weekly e-newsletter Faith in Action.
