Yomo & Maulkie were a
hardcore rap duo, associated with the members ofN.W.A. . While they were affiliated with N.W.A., they Yomo & Maulkie were not agangsta rap group; their lyrics hewed more towardPublic Enemy 's. Both Yomo and Maulkie came out ofL.A. , where they signed withRuthless Records , the label owned byEazy-E . In 1991, Eazy-E served as executive producer for their 1991 full-length (and only) album "Are U Xperienced? ", distributed byAtlantic Records . The album's name is derived fromJimi Hendrix 's 1967 album "Are You Experienced? ". The group found little commercial success, however. Maulkie later joinedIce Cube 'sDa Lench Mob . It should be noted that the song "For the Love of Money" off ofAre U Xperienced? was later, in 1994, reused for theBone Thugs-n-Harmony singleFoe tha Love of $ from the albumCreepin on ah Come Up .Discography
