Mushshak (Urdu: مشاق) (MFI-17) is a license-built military training aircraft version of Saab Safari used as a trainer by the Pakistan Army and Pakistan Air Force. It is manufactured in Pakistan by the Pakistan Aeronautical Complex. As of 2006, 80 aircraft have been manufactured. Built to MIL-Spec and fully aerobatic, it is used for training, towing and other ground support roles. An upgraded version, the MFI 395 Super Mushshak, has also been produced.

Design characteristics

The MFI-17 Mushshak is a one propeller engine aircraft used for training undergraduate student pilots fundamentals of aircraft handling, instrument, and night flying. It is also used for reconnaissance, observation and transportation purposes. the advance version of this aircraft is MFI 395 Super Mushshak.

Features

The MFI-17 Mushshak was designed as a multirole reconnaissance and ground attack aircraft. Also this aircraft is used to train pilots in the Pakistan Air Force Academy Risalpur. Its main features are provision for full blind-flying instrumentation and radio.
