designer=The Tatra T613 was a large rear engined automobile manufactured by Tatra in the 1970's as a replacement for theTatra T603 series. It featured an all new body styled byVignale ofItaly and used a dohcair-cooled V8 of 3.5 litres. The design was updated a further five times until being replaced by theTatra T700 in 1996, itself a restyled T613-5. A Tatra T613 was recently used in the film Hostel set inSlovakia . Tatra cars were in the whole eastern block famous and popular because of their reliability and their ability to drive on decrepit roads. However, before 1989, 613s were used mostly by communist party leaders.
