Katherine Carr

Katherine Fox Carr is an American politician from Indiana, who has run as the Democratic candidate for Congress from the 5th congressional district in Indiana for the past three election cycles. She lost the 2006 race by just over 60,000 votes compared to losing by well over 85,000 votes in the 2002 midterm election. Carr has not ruled out a 2008 run.

Early years

Katherine Fox Carr was born in Marion County, Indiana and went to school there, graduating at 16.

Education

Carr attended Porter College and later Marian College.

Career

Carr taught religious education for 10 years, worked as an administrative assistant, a Eucharistic Minister, a real estate broker, and a substitute teacher at the Roncalli High School and Nativity Grade School.

Issues

Her main issue is preserving the middle-class way of life in Indiana and elsewhere in the country. She wants to control the runaway budget deficit and promote economic growth for Indiana and the country.
