and organizations create customized charitable funds.

Since the foundation opened its doors in 1995, its donors have created funds to benefit 5,000+ Lutheran and non-Lutheran charities throughout the U.S. More than $623 million in outright and deferred gifts has been given to the foundation's charitable funds.

The Lutheran Community Foundation’s vision is to achieve effective, positive and lasting change throughout its community. In 2007, the foundation gave $8.8 million in grants to charities.

Assets used to start a charitable fund at the Lutheran Community Foundation include bequests, cash, stock, real estate, life insurance.
