Urban Music Awards

The Urban Music Awards is a British awards ceremony for music launched in 2003.

Artists like Craig David, Beverley Knight, Omar, Jazzie B, Dizzee Rascal amongst many others have been honoured. The awards ceremony is held annually by Invincible Media Group. It has been cited as a positive alternative to the MOBO Awards as the recognition does not directly stem from ethnicity.

2008 Awards

The 2008 ceremony, the sixth UMA's, will be held at the O2 Arena on November 15th. Those nominated include DJ Ironik, Shaggy, N-Dubz, Estelle, Leona Lewis, T2, Adele, BBC 1Xtra, Dubplate Drama and Adulthood. The performers and hosts on the night have not as yet been confirmed (September 2008).
