Alexander "Sandy" Stewart (born
14 October 1965 inBellshill ) is a former Scottish footballer and football manager.Stewart's playing career consisted of spells with Kilmarnock, Hearts, Airdrieonians, Partick Thistle and Airdrie United. Stewart began his career with Eastwood Juveniles before joining Pollok in 1986 aged 21. Over a year later, he joined Hearts.
He was manager of Scottish First Division club Airdrie United between 2002 and 2006. He was sacked on

November 22 ,2007 , Stewart became caretaker-manager of St. Johnstone when Owen Coyle left to become the new manager of English club Burnley.
